" I didn't say it would be easy... I only said it would be worth it
I was at a friends house when I saw this quote hanging on her wall. It had a picture of Jesus reaching out to a little boy who was curled up in a corner with bruises on his legs and tears running down his face. The image of God helping a person ,who fell on the ground as a little boy and was picked up by Jesus as a strong man, popped into my head. The idea is that no matter what we go through, no matter how hard we fall, no matter who tries to drag us down, if we stick through it and trust in God's love, it will be worth it in the end. God is great and he can reach us wherever we are. If we have him, we have everything. And though the road is long, and growing more narrow every second, it is going to be worth it.

Greetings:)
I am thrilled to see you blogging again.
I am overjoyed to read your message of inspiration. Your words are loud and clear. They hold immense practical wisdom for all ages.
Linnea I have one favorite quote which I would like you to ponder. Perhaps you can tell me what you think about this:
-----------------------------------
Life is no straight and easy corridor along which we travel free and unhampered, but a maze of passages, through which we must seek our way, lost, confused now and again checked in a blind alley.
But always, if we have faith, God will open a door for us, not perhaps one that we ourselves would ever have thought of but one that will ultimately prove good for us.
(A J CRONIN)
----------------------------------
Your words--THE ROAD IS LONG AND GROWING MORE NARROW EVERY SECOND-- made me think. There is always light at the end of the tunnel however long the tunnel may be. Believe me there is light. God always shows us a way to overcome our difficulties, trials and tribulations. As human beings we will always overcome our problems or find a way to circumvent the obstacles before us.
If you ask me, I will tell you honestly I have faced many problems in my life. But God always showed me a way out. HE IS MERCIFUL, KIND, GENEROUS, LOVING AND ALMIGHTY. Besides, whenever we face troubles, He gives us strength to bear and to overcome them. In other words, God does not give us more troubles than what we can bear.
There is only one thing to fear about and that is fear itself. But again to tell you honestly I was frightened of so many things in my life but believe me most of the fears did not come true. What ever fears came true I over came them with God’s help.
The photo is lovely and very inspiring. It makes me feel that God is watching over me at all times.
Kindly convey may regards, best wishes and prayers to your mom. I think of her and pray for her happiness.
May God bless you Linnea and shower upon you all happiness and success.
Yours affectionate friend,
Joseph:)
I am glad you liked the quote and you could draw some inspiration from it. I have read this quote many times and it is one of my all time favorites. It has given me consolation and peace of mind in my own trials and tribulations and showed me a way to cope with my own fears.
Shakespeare said--PRESENT FEARS ARE LESS FEARFUL THAN FEARFUL IMAGININGS. It is always our imagination that creates havoc about an impending disaster whereas the disaster itself is not as bad as we imagined it to be. As human beings we are always resourceful and will always find a way to get out of even the most difficult situation by our own ingenuity and God's help.
Prayer is essential because there is immeasurable power in it. Prayers are always answered.
I am happy to hear about the peace prevailing at your home and hope and pray everything will be sorted out fast. Best wishes to your mom.
